I hope the plants and the frogs and the ducks and all mud-loving things are enjoying themselves.

Cold, too. By our standards. Oh well, good day yesterday and should be cleared in a couple of days (at last).
The good news is we’re at 104% of normal precip for the season — means we can afford a few days off.

I did it: I flew my Formosa in the rain on Thursday morning of 1/10. It was misty first, then it started to rain. Fortunately the Formosa guts are entombed in foam (I have a single aileron servo setup), so rain could not get in. Occasionally the plane got lost in the low cloud. I needed my fix of airborne and took my chance. There were many good things:
1. I had the field all to myself, albeit a wet and soggy one. No need to shout “Emergency landing”, “Launching”.
2. Enjoy the quietness and solitude of the Great Meadow. Just me and my plane, and of course the Great Killer Yuke watching over me. Not a single human soul around, including the park employees.
3. Learn to fly slow and low.
I had 2 good flights and no crash. When I left at 10:15 it started to pour.
Formosa is built to fly in the rain: no electronics exposed externally.
Would I do it again? You betcha!

You go, Bic! Hey, I know I proclaimed it a bit early in your career to pilot a Formosa, but you know what? Wrong.
In other news, Pete and I spun up five or six solid smacks yesterday (including one hard enough to bend my battery plug). Of those, two were kills. Both (I might add right here on Pete’s own blog) that I scored. On Pete.
Hah!
Still, he remains the hittinest dude out there. No fear, that guy.
