Wednesday’s Wild Wing Combat

Wednesday we welcomed a new guest Wild Wing combatant, Akkana Peck.

Akkana and her husband, Dave North, joined us a couple of weeks ago at the PCC Half Moon Bay airfield. Late in the day, Akkana engaged in Wild Wing combat, quickly showing her considerable skills as a pilot.

As a reward for her valor, Dave gave her his Boomer for future combat sessions.

Today, Akkana launched her Boomer and promptly lit up the frenzied four-wing furball. In less than a minute she was trading punches with the rest of us.

Though we’re flying in ever-tighter combat zones, the past two days haven’t brought as many hits as we think we deserve. Instead, we’ve seen countless miraculous near misses, savage shadows skittering across our wings.

At some point, Mike exclaimed, “My plane’s suffering from shadowburn!”

    Sure was fun! Ak is hooked. Once this book gets out of her hair I think she’ll be showing up a lot …

    Got myself a little technical problem. Updating from Panther to Tiger breaks mail records, so I’m a bit lacking in some email addresses — like Pete’s, Gary’s and Mike’s. If y’all could send me an email I could update you on that red motor.
